The new spin-off was created in December 2017 with the signing of the agreement between the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) and the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA).  The spin-off is associated with the Immunology of Diabetes Research Group, led by Dr Marta Vives-Pi of the IGTP and the Supramolecular NanoChemistry and Materials Group
